Transactions Penthouse Is Asbury Park’s Priciest Home Ever Sold A press release from Asbury Ocean Club announces that a penthouse at the 17-story condo that was listed for $5.9 million set a record for the most expensive residence in Asbury Park when it closed in August. At 6,846 square feet, including 2,300 square feet of private outdoor space, the duplex penthouse is the largest of the resi- dences at Asbury Ocean Club. It boasts four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and an outdoor kitchen on the roof. Residents of Asbury Ocean Club have access to 24/7 concierge services, a 65 x 30-foot heated ocean-view pool and sun deck, a pampering spa, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a library and game room, a fully equipped chef’s kitchen, a cinema screening room, and a business center with private offices and video conference capa- bilities. There is also a pet spa and wash sta- tion, in case four-legged residents get sandy at the adjacent beach. At the heart of the property, according to the release, is The Drawing Room—a “glass house” looking onto the deck and sand-dune landscape—that serves as a liv- ing room with an open kitchen and liba- tions lounge, creating a year-round fireside retreat. In light of COVID-19 precautions that encourage people to stay safe at home and limit indoor social activities, such ame- nities are a popular draw for buyers, espe- cially those in the second-home market. “People are spending more time at home now more than ever and are seeking a drivable escape,” says Jodi Stasse, Senior Managing Director of Corcoran Sunshine, who leads Asbury Ocean Club’s exclusive sales and marketing team. “Asbury Ocean Club provides that unique resort getaway where you can truly live, work and play. “The appeal of a ‘lock and leave’ life- style means every request is resolved with a phone call the minute you arrive home, or even before,” Stasse continues. “The vision was to provide our owners with more time to spend with family and friends while our concierge takes care of your everyday needs. That is Asbury Ocean Club.” Industry News Access Property Management Names New President Access Property Management (APM), based in Flemington, New Jersey, announc- es that Alex Scheffer has been named the firm’s new President following the unex- pected death of his father and mentor, the firm’s founder and CEO Wayde Scheffer, on July 6, 2020.
